Default 3800'* And Elevation

Do 3800'* suffer more at higher elevations than DOHC multivalve engines or do all cars dog down at high places?

I think that the PCM can only adjust to so much on any vehicle......As the air get'* thinner in higher altitudes, it prolly dogs down just about anything.

Indeed. Whether or not a forced-induction car gets bogged down more is probably the better question.

I'd agree with Lakeville. However the PCM should be pretty versatile since they don't change the pcm programming for different locations.

WEll you look at it this way, you can only lean out the mixture so far before the car really starts to suffer. And I would figure with a blower, it may suffer more because it'* trying to get in so much more air than what the atmosphere can provide.

I agree with the theory, no doubts there, but i figure high elevation was factored into the programming. At least to a certain point.

What are some of the higher elevations in the country that we have member in?

Your guess is as good as mine. I would imagine they'd go for about 15,000 ft above sea level for a topline....Maybe states something in a FSM about it?

Anyone with an FSM can look it up too. Granted I do think the 05 Lesabre that I think he'* talking about seeing that it was his rental out west is going to be really different from our 95'*, and we're force fed vs natuarlly aspirated.
