Default another reason for my likeing the bigger cars

this is another reason i like the monte, and not any of the smaller cars. this is my uncles car and i strongly suggested he buy this monte when he was looking at little "mileage getters" as he called them. the car gets a ton of miles and i told him it will do as good as those little cars. he didnt believe me but got it anyway and always did good but, to the point if something should happen you have alot more around you. my cousin was driving it and some fool ran a stop sign. she was going 55mph and mostly hit the other guy strait on. her and her friend were just slightly bruised and were only in the hospital a few hrs. he just bought a impala, basically the same thing to replace it.

you can see in this one how the structure soaked up the force as designed

Glad to hear your cousin and her passenger are okay.
I'm with you on the bigger cars, my friend.
I see these people driving around in motorized sardine cans and I just shake my head.

I'm right with you Justin. I drive big truck daily down in PA and I cringe every time a sardine can on 4 wheels passes me. I once parked my 97 Bonneville next to a smart car at autozone, it was HILARIOUS comparing sizes.

My wifes Neon got t-boned while parked a few years ago. The older model Buick(?) smacked the **** out of my Neon but the Buick drove away with hardly a scratch.

Big cars sure do feel safer when you drive them. That generation on the W body platform had all Good or acceptable ratings from the crash tests.

That Monte faired really well. Your right modern engineering/crumple zone, did excellent!
I also dont like small cars period. Absolutely with a long hood and trunk (unlike the small one hit wonder crap boxes) you are much safer.
There is a reason I Really like My Park Avenue..Even though its not a real frame car, it is stronger than most, and its got like what a 6 foot hood line...ya.
Oh give me a home...where the big Buick'* Roam.....And I know I'll Probably... Survive!
Talking about big Buick'*...no it it not modern...but a classic tank!

I miss my Bonny SSEi. I drive a '99 Saturn DOHC 5 speed 40 MPG 243,000 miles. It taken out 2 deer and the last one totaled it according to insurance company. Cost too much to fix it compared to current value. It needed a hood (slight bow, hardly noticed) and a headlight assembly. I also bought a spare '96 Saturn for back-up if this one goes down.
