Default 1 kill and 1 obliteration

Hi everyone!
Made my first obliteration on Saturday night while cruising in Alexandriam and, a good kill today (gotta scroll for this, but it'* worth it).
Pulled up to some stop lights and two 16 yo kid'* in a Plymouth Acclaim with a 2.5 TBI/A-413 auto is next to me. He started revving his engine (that'* how I figured his engine size), and when he let off the car stalled (timing off). My friend and I were already laughing when he started revving his engine, but when it stalled, my gut started to hurt we were laughing SO hard. Anyhow, to make even more funny, he starts cranking and cranking his engine (10-15 seconds worth) trying to get it started before the light turned green and it did so just as it turned green. I give him credit for two things, first knowing he was going to get his *** handed to him, and second, the very quick reaction time between getting the car running (just as we got the green), and shifting to first (doesn't do a A-413 any good to shift from park to first at 3-4000 rpm -I know), but he got the jump on me, butonly about 2 feet, and then I hit the gas and by te time my tires got any traction I was about 2 car length'* in front of him and putting more in between us. When we got to the next light I rolled my window down and gave him some friendly ribbing, and he acknowledged the car was all he could afford (just what kids should have for a first car anyway), and that he thought my car looked fast and just wanted me to waste him so he could see how fast it is (who know'*, next weekend he'll probably pull up next to me in a B4 blue 1967 Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi with 4-spd and 4.10 gears and then I'll be chewing the rubber cloud he'll make with the monstrous drag radials).

Then today after I got off work I saw the kid from town who brags his 1994 Taurus SHO like it'* as fast as a new Viper. While I admit SHO'* are no slugs, but I had to try him and thought I might be able to stay close since he has the slush-box auto.
So I flagged him down and asked if he wanted to head out of town and take a run for bragging rights. He was all over that and in one second he had accepted and said "follow me" as he took off, his head a mile high. So we headed through town at a pace accepteable for in town.
Once we got 2 miles out of town on a low traffic road we came to a spot where the road was flat and straight for almost 3 miles. He pulled in the left lane and I pulled up next to him in the right lane. He had a friend with him who got out and stood on th side of the side of the road and shouted "GO".
When I took off I made sure to keep the pedal where I would get the most accelleration with out smoking the tires. I broke the tires loose twice, as today the car was very responsive, but both times I would only ease up just a hair. About 100 foot down the road I was about just a couple inches ahead.
But that was when I really started pulling on him. By the time I got to 60 he was about 1-1/2 car lengths behind, but he was still trying, and so I kept it down. I let up at 95 and when I let up he was about 4-5 car lengths behind. Obviously my intake and exhaust did wonders for the higher end accellerating.
I was pretty damned happy, as I thought I would have been in his spot. Needless to say, he was pretty pissed and was making comments about, how his car was running like *hit, yet before the race he was saying how it had never run better. When we got back to where his friend was we found his friend pointing at the SHO guy and laughing and saying "You SO got your handed to you in a basket". Sounds like he'* going to get his brother to bring his 1991 Mustang GT with the 5.0 and 5-spd out next week.
I know he has a K&N cone and a Dynomax mufflers (stock exhaust otherwise) those are his only mods.
What do you guys think? Can I take him too? I expect to stay close if not even, elt me know what you think.
Wish I had enough cash to get the Zex dry system.

Good kill. Always love to see another MN Bonnie owner holdin his own!

If the '91 stang is mostly stock you are gonna have another kill to chalk up. The older stangs like that one with the "5.0" were a joke. They were still quick but the 5.0 had nothing to do with the HP under the hood, it was just an engine size. Here are the specs on the car stock:

5.0L 302 EFI E 9.2:1 225 hp @ 4000 300 ft/lb @ 3200

I used to have a Crown Victoria with a 5.0 under the hood. I had some good torque but it had no HP. It'* in the bag!

Ya you should be able to beat that STANG, I beat a V-6 one it was a upper mid 90'* Stang, it was easy. He couln't even smoke the tires, and I had them roasten, cause we were both turning (eaiser to roast them up while turing) and he never gained an inch on me.

You guys have got to be kidding? There is no way you will come close to beating a '91 Mustang 5.0 if it has a manual 5 speed. These cars ran low 14'* / high 13'* w/ the right driver. Mid 14'* if you could just shift the car!! That'* bone stock! Forget w/ mods. Couple more things for you bone heads. A Crown Vic w/ a 5.0 is a whole differnet animal. Did we forget about the different set ups in the two cars. How about the weight difference? Also, by the way, the correct HP for those Stangs was corrected by Ford later to be around 205 not 225. Tutu, again blabbering about beating a car. This time a sluggish turd of a V6 mustang. These car were made for gettin' groceries, so go shopping already and quit dreaming!!!

One thing that makes Bonneville Club so much different and better than any other site is the fact that there are very few jerks on it. It seems that on all other sites that it they are filled with people like juize. Do you even own a Bonneville juize? Why come on the site? I can understand people visiting the site to see what can be done to a vehicle and even adding some ideas or praise for well thought out plans.
I don't understand why you have to come on here and trash talk to everyone and I never will. If you don't have any thing positive or constructive to add I suggest you leave before you get the boot.

Here'* my Rustang GT experiences from last Friday night in Alexandria and this afternoon in Chaska.

Well, I never did get to go up against that guy, but a old friend of mine (used to drive a 1989-1/2 GRand Prix 3.1 Turbo) has a 1989 GT 5.0 w/5-spd and I (Dr Suess was riding with me so I have a witness for all this) went up against him last Friday. He has headers, dual 2.5" straight pipes with Flowmaster mufflers, chip (don't remember manufacturer), rockers, cams, valves, and gears done. Went raced 4 times. Of course he beat me every time, but he was very impressed with how much trouble he had pulling away. I was smoking my tires at the start (I know I should have kept it at 3/8 throttle), but I started by slamming foot to the floor and that'* where I held it. We were dead even until about 30 and then he started pulling away. We raced a few more times, but my car seamed like it was bogging really bad (I could hardly even get a squeek out of the tires), but all those times he really just walked all over me. Of course I expected it with the mods he had.

Then today I brought my brother to the airport in St. Paul and had to go to Willmar and pick my sister up from there.
As I was leaving Chaska on 5 a 1996-1998(? -it had the vertical tail-lights) Mustang GT Convertable pulled out in front of me. He obviously wanted to go (because he had seen (and heard) my exhaust at the Super America I had just filled up on 92 octane, and the Ram Air decals on my fenders.
So once we got to where we had enough space between us and the rest of the traffic 1/2 mile ahead of us on Highway 5 we kicked it down.
I didn't kick it down until he had, but as soon as he did I was right on it. At first he started pulling away (for maybe 1-2 seconds) but then I slowly started reeling him in. About this time the two cars that had been in our lane ahead of us both got in the turn lane, so we kept going. I slowly pulled up next to him and then we both let off.
He didn't even look at me as he was embarrassed as all hell I am sure, but it sure was fun.

On a side note, for gas mileage I got 23.7 mpg and that was going 85 mph without over-drive from Sauk Centre to St. Paul and back to Chaska (142 miles). From Chaska to Willmar and back up to Sauk Centre (155 miles) I still have 3/4 on the guage and I was only going 55-65 the whole way, so I am guessing I got in the upper 20'*. I say upper 20'* becuase my guage doesn't read like other Bonnevilles. The top half of the guage is actually faster than the bottom half. When I filled up in Chaska (had to get gas in Chaska as it was only $1.51 compared to $1.62 in Sauk Centre, but if I had gone 5 miles further from 494 I could have gotten it at Amaco for $1.45) it read 5/8 and all I could get in it was 6.34 gallons so obviously with it reading 3/4 tank now I would think 27-28 mpg or so is what I got coming home.
Anyhow, just a follow-up for you all.
