Default Need Help Decoding my Tranny

ok... I was under the car today and I found my tranny tag and was wondering if someone could help me decode it, if possibly. Here is what was on it:

613CZW W1CQR this number was going top to bottom nxt to a barcode.
3 CZ The three was smaller and the CZ was about half and inch letter.
GM USA 8678228 this was on the bottom corner of it.

and lastly there were three sets of two numbers impressed in th metal, but I could only make out the top 2, which were 1 2 and 3 8

Any help would be appretiated. It is a 93 SSEi. I don' have my manuals here right now though.

Thanks

Chilton'* 28200 shows how to find and decode most of this stuff:

3 = year 1993
CZ = transmission model (you will want to match this if replacing it)
W = transmission type 4T60-E (you will need to match this too)

W = Warren plant (where trans was built)
1CQR = Serial number in base code 31 (whatever that means!)

Just keep trying auto parts stores. We have four here in Ames that carry them; NAPA, Arnold'*, Carquest, and O'Reilly. And you can always order one online from O'Reilly or Advance Auto Parts. While you are waiting for it to be delivered, you might be able to check out a copy at your local public library.

ok... back home to my 93 Manual I have found that you are correct with the model and all that. The numbers stamped on the plate, 12 and 38 are actually 12 and 3B. The first is the Julian date manufactured and the second is the line and shift, line 3 shift B.
