It'* a "rag top". Just a cloth over the normal top, many caddies, and such have this too. Looks good!

Looks pretty ghetto to me, especially with the Caddy looking emblem on it.
It would be removable, but then you'd probably need a paint job.

my parents got one on their buick, along with a dealer installed moonroof. ive seen one on a bonne before and it looked a little weird. ill try to find it and get a pic...

I see they went with those plastic stick-on wind deflectors around the window frames, too.
I suspect the original selling dealer took some elderly couple for a _major_ ride on this sale, maybe larding up the purchase price with paint protection, undercoating and assorted other crap as well. This is the sort of thing that results. Ironically, they need those worthless extras least of anyone, since they don't drive the car in foul weather or extreme conditions anyway...
