Bonny Struts and suspension
 

Well, my CCR bit the dust and I think its time to replace the suspension. I'm going with these
Will the quick struts from monroe work in the front? :f2 just want to be sure lol it just seems easier to replace everything not just the struts themselves..

And replacing the springs in the back. What kind of springs do I need?

you dont want monroes unless you want to make your car ride floaty like a SE. if you have to get quick ones kyb makes some for the bonnie. says not for cc ride but i bet they mount up. there might be some light that comes on though.


i put these on mine took maybe an hour.

the rear the spring is separate, you can get a regular air controlled shock and get monroe ak29 or equivalent which gives you hoses to plug into the shocks and a fill valve. i did this to mine when the lines failed and i couldnt find others. i only have to fill it now maybe once a year

Awesome! thanks jw.. So leave the rear springs on and just change the struts and the lines? I DON'T want it floaty like an SE lol.

Would you recomend doing the KYB quick struts? Or just replacing the four struts?

i just did the struts without the springs, it saves money and you make sure you have the right spring rates for your suspension package.

Okay so i'll just buy the four struts for now and see how that drives. I want a firm "sporty" ride so I think ill try the KYB's.

One last queston, will the struts alone allow me to keep my ELC? Or do I need the AK29 kit?

I get this weird clunking sound every time I turn the wheel all the way to the left. I don't know if I should just replace it all after 115k on the dash? lol

the oem ones on mine lasted to about 150, before the front started getting floaty and the back rubber started leaking and the constant running took out my compressor. if your elc still works you dont need the air kit. just those oem replacement struts for the back. which is the same part i posted but you would just hook it up like stock.

as far as the knocking you will have to take a look at what seems loose or contacting something while some one turns the wheel. might need upper strut mounts, in that case might make more sense money wise just to get the pre assembled ones, because those come with the mounts

I agree with jw. Clunking is common with beat strut mounts. It isn't much more for the quick strut and "have it all".
