Tire size
I'm going to be looking for some new tires this summer and I have the stock chrome 16" rims and I'm wondering is there a bit wider tire other than the 225/60 16'* that come on the car. Any extra grip would be a help. The darn torque the car has is making the tires go kinda fast .

Whats your budget like? I got a set of 235/55 Eagle HPs, they are a little smaller and wider than 225/60 tires. Handling improved remarkably with the 235s. Remember the first number is width and the second is height. SSEi95 had problems with too wide a tire, hopefully he'll chip in and relate his experience

Well I have been looking around and have seen 225 60'* for anywhere from 60-120 bucks a tire. I would like to try to stay under 400 bucks for sure. Anything under that would be ok but the lower the price the better. Ohh by the way would those 235'* fit on the stock 16" rims?

The front 2 are goodyear eagle ga'* and the the back 2 are goodyear eagle rs-a'*. I've found the front ones for bout 85 bucks each and the back ones are damn expensive (175 bucks each). Needless to say not gonna get the rs-a'* back on the car. Anybody know what brand tires orginally come on the ssei'*.

Yes the 235 fits. I think factory wheel width is 7 1/2, so pretty much any tire size will go on that.
Most tire manufacturers should tell you what size tire and wheel size you can get at their web site. Good thing you have 16s, anything bigger and you have to start shelling out the $$$.

on my 92 ssei , the stock wheels are 6 1/2" wide. if you get wider wheels, you can put up to 245/50zr16 .. i have 255/40zr17 * on mine with no problems with hitting the wheelwell. if you want tires cheap, try www.tires.com
i got my pirelli'* there for 100 bux each and shipping is free.
hope this helps you

There'* a nifty link from the TechInfo section if you decide to get a different size tire it will give you all the specs of it. I got mine for just over 500$ that was with balance, mounting, labor, and alignment check.
