Regarding the Dodge Daytona and other stuff, yeah I can see that, if you want to do it, more power to ya. I prefer the look of the Mustang personally, and the rumble of a V-8, nothin can replace that, you have to admit I guess whatever floats your boat regarding fast cars, go for it, it'* your money, your car, you're the one that gets the enjoyment out of it. Mustnags float my boat, so thats my car
I'm not here to bash GM or say that the Mustang is God'* personal car (LS1 F-body owners will tell you that about their cars though ) I'm just saying that its my personal preference, and I'm relating to you a kill story about a bonny on the free-way /shrug. I'd seriously love to meet all you guys and talk car stuff someday, I think it would be a blast. Just keep an open mind to Ford, we're all in the same boat of ricer-killing
Edit: As a side-note, I love the V6 mustang, without it this vehicle line would have gone teh way of the Camaro as well. The V6 sells most of the cars, leaving the performance options open for the GT and Cobra. Even though its a dog, its a loved dog :p

Gotta say. I have to admire you for standing your ground and not bashing.
Sorry, didn't really mean to bash, just kinda wanted to say No matter how good you (anyone) are, there is alway'* someone out there who can out-do you.
Also, I have to remember:
Variety is the spice of life. Try something new, whatever it may be. There is alway'* something to be learned.
Peace out.

I did not read this thread just laughing at the guy who bought a Taurus.
I hope you did not get the worthless Pushrod 3.0 liter and at least upgraded to the 3.0 liter DOHC motor.
The pushrod 3.0 has had massive cooland consumption and burning problems ever since 95 or so when it was redesigned. Almost everyone I have seen that had over 15,000 miles had coffee colored or chocolate syurp colored coolant.

my dad had a 2002, 19k miles on it I think, twice in the shop for transmission, once just to replace the damn thing. I'm not very happy with the taurus myself, gonna sell it and get a bonny. And yeah, I got the 3.0 SOHC (not pushrod) Vulcan engine. I havn't had any problems with it yet (knock on wood) but we'll see what happens in the next few months before I get Clyde (thats what I'm gonna name my bonny, get it, ugh i need a vacation)

At least you raced the Bonneville. I tried to get a guy with a Mustang to run the other night and he wouldn't go. He kept hanging with me but wouldn't get on it. I have been trying to find someone to run to see comparison since the PCM install. I might be able to give you a good run on the highway. I ran a 95 SSE N/A from 60 and I had 3 cars on him by 80 mph. He thought his was Supercharged and was asking why mine was so much faster so we pulled over and talked. I had him lift the hood and it was not Supercharged. I think the main reason I pulled so hard on him though was the PCM has changed the shift points so it downshifts when it didn't used to stock. First gear at 40mph is fun.

I am meaning the downshift. My car will shift from OD to 1st at 40 and below. I believe 1st winds out to a little over 50 and 2nd is a little over 90. Stock the car wouldn't downshift to first unless you were doing 30 or less which made 35 - 40 a really bad punch which seems to be popular for street racing. The PCM also made it shift quicker with line pressure which is great because the tranny shifted like the old IROC-Z which is about as slow of shift as you could get.
