Bonneville's rarest colors 1992+

I have been wondering this since I bought my Gold Fire Mist 1998 SSE.
I am right to believe this is as rare or rarer than the 1998-1999 Olive B-ville's?
I just did a search on www.autotrader.com and found 2 1998 SSE's in Gold Fire Mist and as well as 3 SE's in the same color (none with the Chrome torquestars though).
I did see 2 Olive SSE/SSEi's. I do see about 3 different Olive SE's around my area every so often, and on occasion a Olive SSEi with about 35% tint -this guy has passed me twice on my way home from work since I bought my SSE and he has always given me a thumbs up (too bad I don't have a www.bonnevilleclub.com banner, but although I don't like doing the decals's on my car-anymore- I might have to put a Gold Fire Mist www.BonnevilleClub.com banner on the back window).
As for seeing Gold Fire Mist Bonneville's around me I haven't seen any besides mine and the other SSE that was at the dealer in St. Cloud about 1-2 years ago, one G.F.M. SSE/SSEi with Ghetto Golds in Alexandria about 1 year ago, and 2 or maybe 3 G.F.M. SE's as long as I can remember.

What do you guys think? Is there any way to get production #'s from Pontiac on how many G.F.M. and Olive (don't know the name of the color from the factory) Bonneville's were made?
Any other super rare colors I'm not thinking of?

umm...why did you post it 3 times? you can delete this once the other 2 are gone :)

I know there are at least 5 blue 1992/1993 1998/1999 SSE/SSEi's in Alexandria alone, and here in Sauk Centre there are 2 cherry red 1998 SSEi's (not local owner's, but both owned by people working in Sauk Centre) and I see 2-3 weekly in Alexandria. I thought about them when I made this post, but since I see half a dozen of each color each week I didn't think they were that rare -there are more of those colors than black or white 1996-1999 SSE/SSEi's. I do have to admit that it can it rather :? to me.

Mines the 1992 Blue SSEi, I also have the rare two-tone leather interior.

I think it is one of the more rare I have seen. I have only seen two, only one in person is mine.

Allmachtige 11-14-2004 04:54 PM

beck has a very unique setup there in his 92 and I wouldn't doubt its one of the rarest.

As for our cars being the "Gold Fire Mist" color as rare...I'm not sure if thats true, but I can tell you from multiple sources that its one GM's most expensive colors in the market right now. Very hard to duplicate.

dbeast420 11-14-2004 06:30 PM

I love the interior in beck's Bonnie, too bad they didn't consider a 2 tone gray instead of the single color.

I have seen several blue ones(only 1 SSEi) in the auto trader but not rollin on chrome T'stars and mine was the first blue SSEi I had seen.
I have the only blue one in my town and only 1 of 2 rollin' T'stars(the other is a SLE)

What's wrong with the year? Besides the stupid stalling out problem......

Actually, our cars are two different colors. The pictures I've taken don't show it very well, but it's a deeper color and in person with the two cars parked next to each other -your car would look silver.
Either I'll have to get some good pictures or we'll have to wait until Bonnie Fest '05.
Or, I can just go get my RPO code for the paint and we can compare.

here's the best photo I can find showing Gold Fire Mist off:

the 1992 SSEi in red....

OLBlueEyesBonne 11-14-2004 09:19 PM

Just checked my RPO code sheet for the paint code

U 370E -Gold Fire Mist -that's what is on the RPO code sheet the Pontiac dealer printed out for my SSE.

glorkar 11-14-2004 09:25 PM

Mine paint is called "medium jade grey metallic". I have the 42U exterior color code. It comes up as Olive Mist Metallic, but I talked to GM and they said that that was an error in their RPO look-up system. Not sure if it was just for '96 though, didn't think to ask.

95naSTA 11-18-2004 01:43 PM

What about those 92/93/94? years that have a black ring around the car, like the tops of the bumpers and the mouldings. I've seen a white and a blue car like that.
Looks funky.

Oh snap! That is ugly. I thought you meant that thin little strip of rubber going all the way around. But now i know what you mean.

SSEimatt93 11-19-2004 05:23 PM

Yeah ive seen a few 92 SE Bonnevilles with that black body cladding, kinda like on base model older Cavalier.
Yuk. not my thing!
