Default Siezed tensioner assembly?????

has any one ever experienced this on a car?

was going after a friends LIM gaskets to change them out as well as the valve cover gaskets. so the first thing i did was go to remove the belts. got the */C belt off just fine no troubles. went to take the serpentine belt off and the tensioner refuses to move more than a few MMs, not enough to get the belt off let alone put a new one on. needless to say the LIM and such did not get done today.

i am seriously dumb founded on this!!! i have seen them fail from losing their tension capabilities but never seen one do this.

I don't think I've ever seen that problem. We had one completely fall off our 2004 Century once.

Sorry man i was washing the plow truck when you called so i didnt catch it all lol...

We all know they are made of pot metal and it could either be corrodded or the spring may have snapped and jammed it.....HIt it with PB blaster and see if you can break it free with a dead blow..If not your friend will have to replace it
