Default body color matching (white) wiper arms/blades

at the local wreckers recently, saw a white '92 sse, had what appeared to be original wiper arms/blades (blades had metal airfoils attached) and the arms and blades were white to match the color of the car, on my '95 (and every other bonny I've seen) they're black
Did some previous owner go to the trouble of painting them, or did they come from the factory that way?

My 93 had color-matched wiper arms. They aren't any more. I cleaned them up and painted them flat black.

Mine had them stock, but I removed them. I miss them now under certain conditions (so yes, I suppose they served a purpose).

Conditions:

140mph+ in the rain. They tend to hold the wipers down on the windshield at that speed. And no, I'm not kidding.

I also was unable to find replacement blades, finally found Lexor http://www.pylonhq.com/prod2.html rubber inserts. They're advertised as "for original factory wiper blades, use with original blade'* steel support ribs, rubber inserts maintain the integrity of your factory designed wiper system"

What you get is 2 pieces of rubber 24 inches long. you have to remove the existing support rib from the blade, remove the rubber from the support rib, trim the new rubber to match the length of the old, fit the new rubber into the support rib, then install the rib back onto the blade
