Default scan tools that can write to the ECM?

Have any of you ever used a scan tool that can write to the ECM above and beyond the standard ability to simply clear error codes?

I've read that the Tech 1 can tell the ECM to turn on the low speed fan, learn the idle settings, etc., but I'm not aware of any other brands or models that can do that.

Are there any scan tools other than the Tech 1 that can do this?

Not that I'm aware of for the series one, series 2 yes.
There was a link here somewhere for an open source scanner that talked about writing to the pcm but I never did follow it up to see if it got developed?

Actron does Field Service Mode. CP9110 w/ CP9111. I think DrJay still has some, www.seriesoneperformance.com

Yeah I know with my Actron I can delete codes and such, but the tech one doesn't do much more than that itself.

I think the Tech1 might do ABS codes and stuff... That'* like four codes. and like $300 extra in price.
