Default Slotted Rotors... Where?

Hey guys, I was in Chi-Town for the weeked, and my boy Kennginn hooked a brotha up with some tie rod ends and ceramic pads. He said you guys have been getting some slotted rotors online from somewhere and that they are pretty decent and not too expensive. Soo... what, where and how much.

Thanks

jeff

Or NAPA. Kennginn is local to you and is a NAPA store manager. Although I have no experience with NAPA rotors, he claims good product.

Read the left column carefully in the following link. I tested the first set of RSM rotors for the Bonneville:

Yep, although in my experience they do not provide the stopping power (they are much harder) that the organic/metallic pads do.

So, even with the slotted rotors the stopping may not be as good?

i was hoping - now that my brake pads are starting to squeal - that i could upgrade to ceramics and slotted and get better stopping power on this boat. :P

I had the RSM slotted rotors and Raybestos quiet stop brakes. Hated the combination so much I switched to stock rotors but kept the raybestos pads. The other combo squeeled so bad and didnt perform well. Granted our model is heavier and I drive faster than most so stopping is always harder on the brakes but thats my opinion. I will be switching back to organic pads and resorting to cleaning my wheels more often. I still have the slotted ones in my garage if your interested in looking at them.

I'm pretty happy with the Raybestos/RSM combo, but I had a VERY early production rotor from them. I found as the brakes heat up, they work better, rather than fade. My review of RSM rotors is posted here somewhere.

The 00 have larger rotors and have a much harder time stopping from a fast speed, all my track passes probably put a hurtin on them (105 to 10 slowdowns) so that may have played a factor in my results. Initially the combo seemed to perform well, not sure where it went wrong for me but it did.
