Default clunking noise

When I hit hard bumps, or sometimes turn my wheel, I get weird clunking noises from the front end. It likes to clunk alot when i turn my wheel when its wet (ie after it rains). what is wore out on this 190,000 mile car?

I'm assuming your struts are the culprit. I get very similar noises. On bumpy roads it sounds very wobbly and like something'* loose right?

I had a similar problem on my '78 Cutlass. Not only did I hear loud clunking when I turned or went over bumps, but I also felt a vibration under my left foot at the same time. Turns out I needed to replace my sway bar links because they had come loose. Now my Cutlass is ancient compared to your car, but I thought I'd post my story anyway.

We had that same thing. We brought it to the garage, the guy took it for a ride and the first thing the guy said was it sounded like a bent/broken control arm. He put it up on the hoist, and it happend to be a loose ball joint, because the bolts were not torqued down then it was replaced. Some idiot at the garage forgot to torque them down, and only used a hand wrench to tighten them. Check your ball joints, because the clunk is gone now.

It was getting pretty nasty, it was turning into more of a snapping noise and the whole wheel would move when you hit the brakes. Caliper and all, it was pretty scary.

That wheel had so much play I swear with enough force you could of pulled the wheel off. Im surprised it stayed on that long.
