Default Road Trip Preparation

Okay, so Saturday I'm planning on a road trip. Its gonna be my first in the Bonneville since I got it last September. I was just curious what you all do to prepare for a trip. What kind of things do you check for? The only problems Im aware of are my valve gaskets and upper intake are seeping oil. But I just got the coolant flushed (with the Green stuff) and new rotors up front. The trip is probably gonna be 700 miles round trip. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Your "upper intake" is really your SC, and it can't seep oil. It must be seeping coolant.

Before I went on that far of a trip I'd correct the coolant leak.

The valve covers should be addressed, but won't affect you on this trip. Just keep an eye on the oil level.

lol...well, Im not worried about ME, I'm worried about a car with 106k on the clock. Didn't want to push the car too much. Not sure if the leaking oil was a big enough problem to worry about taking it on a trip. Was actually thinking about renting a car.

Heh, 106k is nothing for a 3800, that is barely broke in. Find that leak and fix it. My uncle'* 94 SSEi had 262k on it when he sold it, and he drove it 300 miles a day.

Check your SPARE tire
Mine is supposed to be 60psi and when I checked it on my "new" 99 SSEi it was like 19...
Food for thought.
