Which new floor matts do you recommend?
I have a 1996 SSEi. White exterior. I think it'* called "tope" interior, which is sort of a light sandy color. Anyway, the floormatts are ready to be replaced. I went to the auto stores, but I frankly didn't see anything there that looked "good enough" for my bonneville. One way or another, they all looked rather "cheap". I bet even a low-end Hyundi comes with better floormatts than what you'd find as replacement options at Kragen or Pep Boys or Auto Zone. Am I missing something? On the other hand, I can't see spending $200 at the pontiac dealer for factory issue replacement floormatts. I thought the car aftermarket was more efficient than this. Isn't there some middle ground between cheap/awful and expensive/perfect? I'm sure that other faithful readers of this forum have faced this quandry and found good replacements. What do you recommend? Something around $50 seems fair to me. I'm tired of shoppingfor this mundane item, so if I can just point-click-buy over the internet, I'd do it, even if it'* $80.

well umm at Wal-Mart, the greatest store ever, they have quite a few. i dont know what the heck "taupe" is but they have some in kind of a light brown/tan. ranging from carpet ones to big rubber ones with like 1/2 inch deep channels in em for mud, snow, rain, etc.. i hope your bonnie never has to see those conditions but you can always be prepared

Check out http://www.jcwhitney.com they have some good prices should match your carpet color and you can even get them embroidered.

I'd suggest factory replacement but you said you don't see spending $200 but it is worth it in the long run I have had no luck with aftermarket floormats.

I got a pair of nice thick floor mats from Walmart, I think, or Pepboys. They were around $40 but they seem very durable and good quality. The only thing I have had trouble with is finding the closest color to my interior.

I think my are "pant savers"? but anyways they are thick rubber typeathing with deep groves on one side and carpet and shallower grooves on the other, cost i think 50 bux Canadian 3 years ago for the fronts at good ol Canadian Tire, and they'll probley last another 3 and still look like new. If you could get the ones im talkin about go for em, there great for salt n snow (groove side up) and they do great at keeping dirt sand and all that stuff in during the nicer monthes.(carpet side up). oh they wont move around on ya either, they weigh a good couple pounds each.
