Default 96-99 headlight removal made easy?

It'* two 10mm bolts from the factory, but I was just thinking maybe we can snag some of the 'finger' spin bolts on 92-95'* and replace the 10mm bolts?
I don't have a 96-99 around me at the moment to look at for fitment (since I have a pair of 'finger' spin bolts right here in my tool box) but I bet they'd spin right into place.
My only question is if the diameter of the spin head is too big and would hit the 96-99 headlight bracket edge lip.

FYI the trans port headlight thumbscrews are about half the size of the Bonnes, and work Better

Maybe I'm missing something but I've never had a hard time with the headlights. What'* so hard? Corner lights, 2 10mm bolts, pull at the right angle and they slide out. I guess I'm just confused and curious as to what the problem/difficulty is.

Right on.... for those times where a silverstar blows and you are 100 miles from home and don't have any tools along.

Do what I do, buy a cheap toolkit and keep in the car.

but getting the corner light out still requires a screw sriver. even if the screws are left loose like mine, I have yet to figure out a way to unlatch the corner light w/o some sort of screwdriver or other long skiny device.

EDIT: sounds like its time to ditch the silverstars

Hmm, interesting, mine pops out with my bare hands and still stays on over rough roads, interesting...

For the Corner light screw...

Maybe somthing like this will work if you can find one in the right size.
