three out of injectors stuck
ok so heres the story (buy the way the whole time my buddy was following me)
yesterday i fire up my car and one of the injetors is stuck so i think no problem i will just tap on it a little bit and it will work fine (and it did) so i took it down interstate 80 about a half hour from my house and i was just cruising at 70 to princton to get some groceries had the cruise control on and the next thing i now the whole car start shaking so bad that i couldnt see straight (this has happened before but it was cause of the cruise control moduelator) so i figured that what it was so i tapped the brake and flipped of the cruise control (and the shaking stops :? ) so i do what any 3800 owner would do i pushed on the gas a little more to bring it back up to 70 and once i hit about 69 it started doing it again WTF!!!!!! so i back of the throttle a little more and brought it down to 55 (still does it) son of a b$%^$h so i brought it down to the slowest speed that they let you go on the interstate 45 and it just does it a little so this hole time i am talking to my buddy who is about a half a mile behind me and i tell him whats happening and we decide to get off and the lasalle peru exit (route 251 which convently led me to my car dealer ship where i bought the car) so he followed me to the dealership which is about a mile down 251) so we pull in and this hole time it is sputtering so i put it in park and it quits pop the hood so this time we tap on all six injectors and he puts it in drive and it quits turns out i was running on 3 cylindars
so we walk in the dealer ship and tell him all of the above of what happened so he told me to take a temporary car a 1995 plymoth voyager with 92,000 miles mint condition
he topld me that he would start to work on my car right away and call me when he figures out what is going on
so finnally i get the call bum bum bbumm
he said that two of the pistons were rubbing and that 3 out of the 6 injectors got stuck and were fucked
so what we decided to do is trade off i get the plymoth voyager and he gets my car that is going to cost about $3,000 to get in mint condition again and i still owe $1,500 on it anyway and the car has 142,000
so he is going to transfer my payment and put new tires on the van and change the engine oil and then over another two years i am going to have to pay out another $3,500 @ 180 dollars a month
i like it it is really nice
so betsy is gone for good sorry guys
i wanna here what you guys think

How did he know that 2 pistons were 'rubbing'? Injectors would have been a relatively quick change and you can get stock ones for very cheap. Sounds to me like the dealership guy was trying to make a sale.

Pistons rubbing? Wow sorry to say but he screwed you over to make a quick sale. He knew that the Olds was more reliable and just wanted to pawn off a caravan in which the trans will probably blow in a few thousand miles.

Its funny that didn't even sound like a bad injector.... You will almost never see 3 fail at the same time on an SFI 3800.... There are 6 drivers one for each injector, unlike an MPFI which used batch fire...
Sounds more like you had a coil die... These cars do not like to run with 2 cylinders down and suck A$$ when 1 coil fails...
Something about this whole deal stinks

I'm with Jr'* on this ..
Pistons don't "rub" each other.. they don't like to cozy up and get down and do the dirty.
You got hosed with a Plymouth..
Poor Pinky got hosed with a Bimmer..
Which is worse...who knows
