Low-tech fix for GM key fob buttons
My favorite key fob buttons were starting to not work again. I don't think GM will be recalling these anytime soon, so instead of spending $5-$10 on eBay for a new button pad or a plastic shim, I spent a few minutes making my own shim with items I had laying around my office.
All you need is a piece of paper and a soft #2 pencil. Cut the paper so it fits snugly inside the button pad. Draw some circles where the pad makes contact with the circuit board. Close it up and it'* like new!
