Default Convertible car seat installation

Wondering if someone can help me. I have a 2003 SSI and need to upgrade my infant car seat to a rear-facing convertible one. My five month old is a linebacker in training.
Anyway--I got an Eddie Bauer one and it DOES NOT fit. The angle of the seat does not work, it leans to far farward for the kiddo. Also, even if I rigged it so that it was level, the front seat would be all the way forward. Anybody know of particular ones which do fit? It'll be in the middle seat. We do have that Latch system, too.

Thanks

If you can, let me know the model of Eddie Bauer seat you have. I have Eddie Bauer seats for my two boys (2yr old and 2 mo old) in both my 97 Bonneville SE and my wife'* 2001 Grand Prix GT. The base of both our infant carrier and the toddler/child seat are adjustable to many angles to fit in almost any car. Also, the manual that came with the seat suggested rolling up a towel to put under the car seat in some cars.

I don't have a 2000+ Bonneville, so it is possible that they just won't fit right, but I think it can be adjusted to fit.

If you can, post a link to a picture of the model car seat you have. (Find a pic at EddieBauer.com or at ToysRUs.com).

Like above, check to see if the angle is adjustable. Or, try the towel. i actually bought a foam piece at Babies R Us that went under the base to get the right angle. Good luck!

This is what we use and it fits great in the bonne. The reason we bought this particular one is because it'* 5 to 33lbs in rear facing and 20 to 80lbs in forward facing.

First, do you have it in the middle? My car seat fits, but it has to be in the middle unless the handle is up.

Call me paranoid but isnt the middle the safest spot? I'll start shopping in the next few weeks and might just go somewhere where we can try a bunch I do know that I want one that goes from the car to a stroller. So the base would Always be in the car.

I believe the middle is the safest as it gives protection from side impacts.
If you have a Babies R US, they seem good about helping get a good fit. And, if you get a coupon or a good sale, they have good pricing too.
