Anyone have information on the 1963 Pontiac Parisienne?

Canadian car with a Chevy engine (283 or 327), built on an X frame (I think it's also a Chev frame) and that's just about all I know about it. Except that - apparently - it had the same steering system as a Corvette at the time! So it wasn't simply a Chev Impala clone....

Yes, I own one and am trying to find out a little information.

Thanks!

I remember lots of Bonnes/Parisians- Not sure they fit in todays standard garage. I think the old Bonnes may hold the record for longest car! hahaha! They were so pretty though.
If they were Chevys, they had a thousand pounds more chrome on em.

I agree! There seems to be a Bonneville "club" in the Buffalo NY area. I was wandering through a mall some years back and there they were. Absolutely beautiful - and I have never ever seen a car that long before or since! Sleek, too! :)

Google is your friend:

Pathfinder, Laurentian and Parisienne were the three models of the Pontiac in 1963. There was an American that year called the Catallina but was not sold in Canada. All three Canadian models had orange painted engines made by the Chevy engine plant while American made engines of that era were blue.

There are references to a 283 V8.

Basically it is a Canadian Bonneville.

This car has the chevy xframe not the wide track perimeter frame.

There is a 1963 Pontiac VIN decoder at: 1963 Pontiac.com

Google is not my friend because it came up with almost nothing (including this forum!!! - I got here through a link from another web site.)

I thank you, Sir!

Yes, I know it was a "Canadian Bonneville" but as there were Chevy parts in it (engine, other things that I can't recall now - steering?) it's hard to find replacement parts. That decoder looks interesting!!!

Correction.... the decoder is not my friend either. :)

Sorry, the VIN you entered cannot be decoded.
Please try again.
Obviously it's for US Pontiacs.... I wonder if I should try searching for GM or Chevy "decoders"?

Hmmm..... off to Google once more! :D
