I've been doing some reading here and there at www.autopia.com. It'* an detailers forum, Lots of good info on the best car waxs and products out there. Lot of professional detailers and many clean rides.

Anyways, theres 2 basic type of members there, Zaino users and non-zaino users. Zanio is a type of wax, it'* not really a wax, it'* a synthic compond made of lots of good chemical stuff The call it a Polish and it was designed for show cars. To give the highest shine posible. Makes the finish of what ever look like a mirror.

Zaino is a multi-step process, and cost roughly $85 bucks the start up kit. From there only cost $8-13 per bottle of what you need. First you need to clay bar your ride, wash it with dawn to strip off any wax you migh have on, then re-wash with their soap, apply first layer of z-05 swirl remover- than whip down with z-6, than apply z-2 and you'll be happier with your cars finish than you've ever been.

I know it'* some cash, but this stuff is last for months (way longer than wax) and will make your car slick as chit. If your into high end finish, this is the stuff.

Just got my starters kit yesterday and can't wait to get my Zaino on. Got all next week off still due to my surgery and will have several coats on. My SSEi will be the shinest around. BTW, you can a plly Zaino more than 25 coats and see it get shinier everytime.

That'* crazy money for the startup but I may give it a shot when I get my new car. My 3 step Mother'* process looks amazingly shiny. I'll have to give the Zaino a shot to see the difference. But if I get a black SSEi I'll probably have to invest in that.

If Zaino is not a wax, does the water bead up like it would on wax? Or could someone apply the Zaino, then add some layers of Carnauba Wax on top of that?

EDIT: I saw Rogue'* black SSEi in August and that was SHINY!!! And I think he uses Meguiars.

I dont think its any more pricey than mothers or mcguires. If you read their instructions they recommend all 6 steps you could skip a couple till you got the whole the kit? I use the mcguires and like the results, but could be swayed by your soon to be posted 'luster' pics

Yep, cleaner, polish and then gold class paste...also use the quick detailer spray. I get pretty good results with it, in fact maybe a little to good. It shows of the paint chips in the hood really well

I just bought Meguiars "gold class" paste too. I think I'll use the Meguiars "cleaner" wax first tomorrow, then a coat of the "gold class." Should I wash the car with dawn first to remove old wax or should I just apply more wax on top of the old wax? I last waxed the car about 2 or 3 months ago..

If you're claying you're stripping the wax, i dunno about dawn but i've never heard that before. I've heard it messes with paint more then wax.

Nah, your "cleaner" wax should take off the old stuff...The only soap you should use is a good quality car shampoo.

You need to use the Dawn dishwashing soap to remove any old wax if you are applying Zaino. The Zaino will bead up water better and longer than wax. It is well worth the money.

From what I read is that Zaino is suposed to bead up better than wax and far outlast any carnuba product. If used like twice a year (for the slackers) it will still bead up all year long.

As for washing your car with Dawn, I wouldn't recomend this for anybody except those starting Zaino. It strips everything off your paint so your starting on the clearcoat/paint. Not a bad thing or anything, just if you every do this, make sure you put some wax, zaino, or something on your paint/clearcoat to protect it after you do this.

blocker44- Give it up for Homewood, IL! I take it you've used Zaino before. Ride looks nice, Mines almost just like it.
