Any Suggestions for Wiper Blades?

I'm in dire need of new wiper blades. I have alway brought ExactFit blades from Napa but they're POS IMO, they smear after a week or so and rarely last that long. You guys have any suggestions for good high quality (NOT expensive) wiper blades that wipes clean every time.

My whole family has always used Ancos. Work fine. I need some too now that you mention it. Heard good thing about Rain-x blades also. If you havent already I highly recocmend applying rain-x or LG to your windshield. DOnt even need blades half the time

Rain-X Rocks!

its like the wipers are invisible, the only time i use my wipers are when the window is dirty and i spray it or when it is lightly sprinkling, the tiny raindrops dont roll off like regualr rain does

and BTW i use ANCO also ;)

just my 2 cents....winterblades SUCK!! because they are all wrapped in rubber, the wind catches them when they wipe and lifes them off the window....which obvious doesn't help when you are trying to remove water from the window.

You're not going to believe this, but to me, OEM replacements are the best. I've tried the rest. (Walmart, Kmart, Automart.....all the marts) Anco's are pretty good though I have to admit. I usually get the OEM replacement elements (just the rubber wiper portion) from like GMpartsdirect, or another gm parts website (forget the name). I have to re-use the metal strips, but they never wear out. The OEM wipers wipe clean, and are very quiet, no squeaks at all.

My wiper blades would squeal, no matter what I did, until I bought TEFLON wiper blades. In order to get them I had to call NAPA and have them order them in the proper size for my Bonneville, and while I was at it, for my wife's Grand Prix.

Teflon blades are supposed to have a gray band running through their length. I've heard they're supposed to last the life of your car, although I have no actual expectations that they will. But they've been on my car for at least three years and still work great. I think mine are Trico.

See them here:

While NAPA carried a few sizes, they naturally didn't have any of the size I actually needed, so save yourself a trip and just call them first and order them.

I also see that PIAA carries what they call "Super Silicone" wiper blades (despite the picture saying "Silicon" on them, silicone and silicon are not the same thing), but they look like they're just rubber blades impregnated with silicone lubricant, to leave a silicone film on your windshield. Personally, I don't want any films on my windshield.

And I know a lot of you guys swear by RainX, but the stuff just makes me want to swear AT it. Yes, water flies off your windshield in a very cool effect. But the stuff just clouds up in cool weather, and then I can't see. I don't know, maybe they reformulated it, because I haven't used it since about 1990, but I've never missed it. I keep my windshield clean with amonia based window cleaner, and use teflon blades. No problems.

Slow down. Never had that problem with mine.
