Removing "Assist Rods"
Anyone know how to??
They are the things that hold up the hood & there are 2 clips that hold them on, but I don't know how to get them off w/o breaking them [which i'm trying to avoid]. Has anyone been sucessful in doing this b4?

I don't know how to remove them but i'll just post a warning... those things are HARD to get compressed again without the hood on them. we've smashed a few hoods with the rods atached in our drop tower at work so i've messed with them. impressive strength!

SUPER easy when you figure out how they come off.
That clip you're pulling on? Use a small flat blade screwdriver and pull the clip out a bit. Not far, just disengage it. Then, using your other hand, smack the rod and it will pop off. It'* just a simple ball-and-socket design with the ball on the hood and the socket being in the rod and the clip as a lock. Make sense?
Let me know if you have any questions.
