Air not blowing through the main front vents.

Hey all when I have on th eAC it gets cool in the car but it won't blow throught the front vents when I have it on that setting!

Anyone know what could cause this?

thanks

Your blower motor may be clogged or needs to be replaced. Its easy to do, the blower motor on Bonnevilles are located on the firewall at the back of the engine compartment.

Are you getting all of the fan settings? ie low/med/high? There is a de-clog product on the market that can be used. Not sure of the name...someone else will chime in here I'm sure.

Good luck

The clog wouldn't be in the blower motor; if it's spinning at all, I would leave it alone. However, the A/C evaporator and/or the heater core can get clogged (especially if the evaporator has sprung a refrigerant leak and got the fins all wet with oil); you need to open up the evaporator case and get in there to clean out the goop.

What control panel do you have? If it's the electronic one, is it indicating that it's sending air to the dash vents but nothing is coming out?

If it's _not_ the electronic one, are you getting air out of the _wrong_ outlets? That is, do you dial up VENT or A/C but get air out of the heater ducts (on the floor) or windshield defrosters instead? If so, you may have a vacuum leak, and the duct servo motors are not operating as a result.

P.S. What year and model are we talking about?

Which climate control do you have? The manual one with the knobs, or the automatic with the display?

I've had this happen. Pop the hood. On the fire wall there is a black tank. It is for the vacuum supply. If you are standing in front of the car looking at the engine, the black tank (about half a gallon or so) is to the left of the brake master cylinder. On the bottom of this tank, there should be two small vacuum lines connected to two posts coming from it. If there is a post open, there should be a vacuum line hanging somewhere very close. Hook it back up. I've knocked mine off changing the spark plugs, and I only got air at my feet and at the windshield. It also happened in my fiance's 93 SE. I have auto climate and she has standard, and it is the same vac line that runs the flaps in the air system.

If it's not there, there's a vacuum manifold inside the car kindof in between where the stereo and glove box are. You can access it through the front passenger hush panel (above the footwell). Look for a disconnected vacuum line there, also. You're looking for a little hockey-puck type device with several lines going in and out of it.
