got stuff done today:

Took the head liner down and found the short that kept making my interior lights go out. So thats out of the way. Took the 2 grilles off and started the paint-stripping process. So I'm going to repaint the (with primer this time ;)) tomorrow. I'm thinking about painting them red this time though and painting the calipers red too but IDK. Got the sunroof cover out and glued the fabric back on, it looks like crap but I can open and close it now but I am going to post for a used on in the Wanted section.

I tried to fix the leaky driver's door but couldn't find that sticky black stuff that seals the plastic at any parts store, if anybody knows what that is and/or where to find it I'd appreciate the knowlege.

When I had the door panel off I noticed that the red reflector thing has holes in it for lights and even a place to put a conector for the wiring and under the padding there is a little hook for the wiring also. Does anybody else's car have working lights in theirs or did GM change their mind about putting lights in there?

What was shorting out? The 2000s had lights in the doors where your red reflector is. Guess GM wanted to save a couple of bucks and changed to what you have starting 2001.

lol thats thig about gm not feeling like putting the lights in was probably disgruntled employee!!! lol that or just a way to come back to the dealership to make ya spend some cash!

that sucks, I'll have to look for a crashed 2000 to get the lights off of. I had taken the headliner down once before when my sunroof was leaking and when I put it back it was pinching the wire going to my vanity light so it started to blow my interior light fuse not too long ago.

So does anyone know where to get that sticky stuff? I got bad weather coming this week.

Not sure on the butyl rubber seal that you need. I've been lucky enough to not have to get any as of yet. I'd think the dealer will have it, but I don't know other than that.

You should be able to buy the butyl sealant at NAPA.

Many others have also gotten weather strip adhesive. Works great... ;)
