Unique trans? *96 SSEi owners look*
In efforts not to hijack someone elses thread I am going to start this.
My VIN matches between the car at the RPO label.
I have:
M13 - trans, 4T60-E F31
FR2 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.93
Apparently no one has ever seen this before, and I know the gearheads will be dying to figure it out so it can be added to techinfo etc. So whats going on here? I have been told I have an early production SII L67 because there are no red lines on my engine cover. I thought that may be of some help. Other then that I'm lost. Start the discussion!
Maybe some other 1996 SSEi'* can sound off?

The 4T65-E HD had the 2.93 axle. I thought the 4T60-E HD was 2.97. For Ser 1 L67 I know it is. Maybe for Ser 2 L67 it was 2.93 from the get go, even before the new trans.

I looked briefly for the date sticker and couldn't see it...I will find it tomorrow.
I was going to drive nice, but then I punched it...lol.

Captin we may need to do some 1996 Model year research on the 60-E HD gearing... Its odd that they went to that in 96... Maybe all of the 96 supercharged series II'* used the 2.93 gearing... It is strange but none the less the matching RPO Tag to the car tells the story...
What is the production Date on the car BTW..
And a little mental note All of the series I SC are 2.97... Looks like 96 could be the change over year..
If we look at 2.93 and 2.97..... <--- Wow why did they change at all..

Well, 2.97 was just too tall...they had to chop 0.04 off of it..
But anyway, on my driverside door it says Date: 01/96.
We need some more '96 SSEi'* to check it out!!
