Delco ignition swap - An absolute requirement
I changed my car to delco type 2 ignition today, and at first I had no change, but even worse, the car wouldnt start at all several hours later. I changed to one of the other 2 modules that I got, and now I have instant starts.
I can't remember who suggested that I do this, but thank you!

I think I reccomended it, but you had installed a new Magnavox typ unit not to long ago... LOL
Next get some NGK TR55 Plugs Stock number 3951

I was, but then I got pissed off because of the crank issue, so I returned my off brand but still very expensive magnavox module just before its 30 day policy ran out, and put the delco module on. I have re-experienced the problem since though, I have no idea. I do have a question though. I got 3 delco type modules. All 3 are orange near the coil terminals, but two are green on the wiring harness end, while one is orange, I'm talking about inside whrere the large connector goes. Any ideas about that? Maybe one is an aftermarket?

Nope I have seen both like that....
So you still have a no start condition?
Have you ever disconnected the negative battery cable so that the ECM could blank its memory and relearn? I have in the past gotten better starts by doing so...
There may be some other issues there...
Do you or have you had any stalling? Once its running, if you were to shut it off, will it start right away?

By chance does ur security light stay on??? I've been having trouble once in a while w/my car not wanting to even turn over and I noticed the security light was on both times. :?:
