Default Power antenna

I've noticed that my power antenna has been getting stuck up when it gets cold at night. What do you guys use to lubricate these things to prevent this?

I also noticed a few times that when I leave the car for the night, the antenna is stuck up. When I get back in the morning it has retracted. I don't hear the motor running when I leave, so what causes it to finally go back? The motor wasn't running all night because my battery was fine...can the thing tell when it'* not frozen and just go back?

It would probably give the paper boy a good early morning scare.

Ehhh, thanks...probably should have looked myself first.

However, the fact that it will be up, and then down the next morning...that doesn't indicate the motor is running until it goes down does it? I don't want it to kill my battery.
