well hey you all im new and i was hoping you could possible shed me some insight on an issue iv had with this motor. today it just stopped running after 10 minutes of solid going and took off from a stop light like a dog and died before i could get to 40 pulled over and it barely would crank over got it started again and 1/2 a mile down the road i got horrendous noise coming from the engine car then dies and now wont even try to crank over. iv eliminated it being a power issue. oh also the mileage is only 119000. if you all have any ideas or comments let me know im most likely going to junk it tuesday if i cant figure it out.

Is there anyway you can post a video...It almost sounds like a pun rod bearing seized it up but thats worst case scenario...Would like to dig into this if you could get a vid that would be awesome if not ill still help

right now i dont have a way to post a vid. and only thing is like i said it ran like it did every day. then i took off at a stop light (trying to race dude next to me) and it just ran like a dog. could barely get to 40 then it just crapped out on me. idk im thinking it may have jumped time or i twisted the cam maybe? idk im no mechanic lol

Second is the SES (service engine soon) light (or maybe check engine) is it on if so there is a code and it could just be a simple misfire or something else of the nature...And what kind of car is it and what year

no it sounded more like it threw a rod or (now im not sure if its an interference motor but) the piston crashing into a cylinder. cuz iv had that happen on a foreign piece of junk

Is there any oil in the coolant? Does your oil look like a chocolate milkshake?

generally i got three noises and all of them were different tones of crashing. no bad bearing noises. but it right now will not turn over and it sounds like its fighting eitheer compression, ceased, or has something impeding it.

well if it sounded as such wait...When you try to crank it does it roll over or just go click and not roll over at all...

Edit...It is entirely possible that It threw a rod and seized up...But lets try to rule that out lol thats bad very bad lol
