Default How to repack front wheel bearings

Well winter is on the way so i figured i might as well re pack my front bearings, and while the bearing is out im gunna see if i can take out the wheel speed sensor and repair the wires comming out of it if possible...anyways i know once the bearing has been re packed there is a snap ring (i think) that should be replaced...what i need to know is exactly how to do this and what are the tourque specs for the front wheels and what the tourqe specs on the bolt that holds the brake disc in place.
Thanks!!!!

LOL, I saw in a repair manual once that you could take the speed sensor out of the bearing. So I took the sling of the back of my front bearing to replace the speed sensor and it was full of crap and crusty stuff. New bearing time!

I have never seen someone replace only the sensor - best to buy a new hub and bearing.

I've heard this can be done, too, but by the time the sensor goes, it'* probably time for a whole new assembly, anyway. If I was rich and famous, I'd just replace all 4 corners right now.

Then again, if I was rich and famous, I'd be in a 2004 SSEi, giving BADSSEI a run for his money, eh?

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...93&catalogid=1 does this seem like the correct price...36 bucks for the front right speed sensor..im wondering if that includes the bearing..?

that price will NOT include the hub/bearing assembly. Trust me. Look in Techinfo for the procedure. Buy a manual if you think you're up to this. It'* not that bad. Just take your time.

It can be done; But not vary often there so rusted you always break the sensor.
