lifters and pushrods are last so if you actually have 80lbs at the sensor sounds like you have a blockage in one of the passage ways i dont know that much about the internals on a 3800 hopefully someone else will.

ive seen lifters gum up and keep oil from reaching the push rods and rockers (happend to me) and its from the oil not being chaged often enough.

Oil pump could be going bad..IIRC the sensor is on the bottom of the engine so it may b working just enough to cover the bottom but not enough to push it up top

If the lifters are filling up then it should be climbing the push rods, that'* where the oil goes after the lifters. I guess it'* possible all the push rods are clogged. have you tried using some seafoam in the oil? That should clear any sludge. Just make sure you do a oil change after the seafoam.
