92 bonneville questions
Ok guys, i think this may be unique, but maybe not. I noticed yesterday when I changed my coils, plugs, wires, air filter, and oil that my car is EGR less, it also has the higher end delco ignition and the aluminum intake. What are the specific problems with this car? I know every year has them but what about this one specificly? Also is it bad that I don't have an EGR valve?
|
Don't run it overly hot or let it overheat. The EGRless 92's were known for being easier to burn a valve.
Overall.. it's not any worse off than any other year ;) |
A lot of the cars in GM's 92 line up didn't have EGR valves. They ran so clean it was thought they didn't need them. I think that cars start buring exhaust valves though and that caused GM to bring them back, can't remember the specifics.

What about intake gaskets? Are they a problem on these? I know that they are on the plastic intake cars?
|
No, you have standard ole ...good gaskets.. no plastic frames on your car.
A minute....or less... it's not like you are slow....I'm merely online.. ;) |

Now this may high light my greeness but what is the EGR valve do? Do I need to ad one?
|
You don't need one.. your motor was designed w/o it on purpose.
It recycles exhaust gases into the intake to be reburned. Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve ;) |
