Default '93 SSEi gasket leak concerns? Coolant?

Hi Folks,
I've read a lot about UIM and LIM gasket failures.
I understand my SSEi isn't as prone, as the */C acts as the UIM.

Still, should I be concerned about LIM failure?
Also, I plan on flushing and filling the coolant soon. What type should I use, regular Prestone mixed 50/50??

I haven't noticed any problems, or mixing of chocolate and peanut butter, I just want to be informed.

Thanks!

Adam

Not only is your UIM the SC, but your coolant is not Dexcool. Dex is known to eat our plastic composite gaskets.

Flush it and refill with "mix with any color" coolant. Or, you can use straight green coolant if you can find it.

Don't use the orange coolant (aka Dexcool).

Our LIM gaskets aren't overly prone to early failure. But, if any, are the earliest to fail in our engine. If yours are original, I would change them when I had free time just for peace of mind.

Wow!
As always, thanks for the speedy replies!

Well, that gives me some peace of mind, but I wonder about that LIM gasket.
The car is running so well now (touch wood) I would like to do whatever possible to keep it that way.

Is it a hard job doing the LIM on these? I did a quick search, and couldn't find a "How To".

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction??

Thanks agian,
Adam

Its pretty striaght forward changing the lower intake, remove the supercharger, and pull off the lower intake, I had to redo my supercharger twice so I changed the lower intake at the same time, what you should get is a manual set for your bonnie, let me know if you need any assistance
