1994 SSEi.
Just looking for some opinions. Mick just told me about a 94 or 95 Tan (same colour as mine with same rims) that'* up for sale but not advertised yet, asking price is $500.00
Problems that I know of:
Tranny is starting to slip
Unidentified */C problem
I don't know anything else such as mileage etc.
Question, is it even worth looking at? I do'nt really need a parts car since I have a good friend that feeds my addiction but unfortunatly far away. I don't really want to store this car, and don't know what it would take to certify. Am I wasting my time even thinking about it, since I have never re & re a tranny in a front wheel drive nor do I have the ambition to want to try on my own.
thanks
Frankenberry

if you have the 1-2K for a new trans then go for it.
and If it has lower miles like under 150K miles and little to no rust.
Other then that. look at my $550 SSEi
One way to tell if its a 94 or 95 is if it has the Head light washers its a 94. 95 did not have it.

Badnit is leaving out some costs...
Frank.. You could cruise down this way and pull a trans at the not so local yard for $100 that has a GM rebuilt sticker on it.

I still think Bandit got a much better deal. I don't want a parts car, and doing a tranny is not my idea of fun. There is no one in this area that can help if I need it, and winter is on it'* way.$500.00 sure does seem like a good price but it can quickly become a money pit. Based on what you're telling me though, if I read you correctly, it may be worth looking at?

Bill, not to seem sarcastic, but when your tranny went, why didn't you go the route of the $100.00 scrap yard tranny, or did you think it would hold out with your set up?

I looked into the local yard transmission. They actually don't have a surplus for my year in the heavy duty trans. Across the street at their pull it for you yard..they had my trans with 100K on it for $300. Actually had 2.
I considered rebuilding it myself..but the costs for what needed to be done for the future power I planned on making wasn't cost effective. It was worthwhile for me to have mine built by Intense and have it backed by their great reputation.
If you don't plan a crazy build up and adding a bunch of power..a known GM rebuild is a great way to go for the cost.

I did not leave out Cost... that what mine cost... at first lol
But im just saying not every $500 car is bad. Nor are they always the right choice for every person.

Ok.. sorry, I thought it may have been tough to drive with no headlights, busted fender, buckled hood, air bags deployed and an absolutely horribly beaten out windshield..
Any car is worth taking the time to look at though. Looking is typically free.
