My wife agrees. She seems to think that we are still cursed by the "White Curse" from the previous car we owned. I'll have to make sure I don't pull an engine from a white car when I do get one.

Got a few things taken off so far....
Upper and lower intake manifold off, alternator off, see nothing out of the ordinary here...
Forward cylinder head taken off. Now I see something not right...
Piston hit the cylinder head once or twice...this would be piston #5
Finally found where it broke through. Right above the starter. Couldn't see it with the exhaust manifold off...

A better view of the "hole" that was made now that the starter is out of the way...
A piece of the block....
That rod came out so hard and fast that it broke my starter housing...
And the piece de resitance! I was able to shove a screwdriver up through the hole and push the piston out...
This isn't suppose to be bent is it?

This isn't half the damage either. While poking around, I noticed what looked like one of the main crank bearing caps had been bent which also warped the side of the block. That one hole even bent my oil pan.
Through the piston hole, I can see laying on top of the oil pan tray what looks like to be a connecting rod bearing. But it was FLAT, and not curved.

Shoot man that sucks, quite a bit of damage you got there.
Any reason why? I mean I know stuff happens but are you modded or just stock?

The only thing thats been modded was a port and polish of the LIM a few years ago. Maybe I'm just too hard on these engines.
