Springs, valve seals, and gaskets.
Working on a GP GTX today. Blown supercharger gasket, needs new valve seals, and he has broken 2 valve springs this year. time for a new set.
Oh my, what was that flash?
Supercharger off.
OK, I'm not going to say where these SC gaskets came from, but really, do they need to cut that area out?
Look at this joke, how can you ever hope to seal up the pressure of high boost with what, less then a 1/8" of sealing surface.
W body cars do not have much room, but taking the supercharger off really opens up the area.
Rockers off.
Attacking the rear bank.
Air tools, what more can be said?
Everything stripped down, about 1 hour in at this point.
Now on to the springs
Compressing the spring.
Removing the valve seal.
On with a new seal.
Pressing it in to place with a 3/8" deep well socket.
Rockers back in and torquing the bolts.
Now the back, less room back here
My good compressor don't fit, so I need to use the smaller screw type compressor.
All springs done and rockers back in place. Chris can put the valve cover back on.
Remember those really stupid gaskets? Ya, so do I. That'* why I started making my own a long time ago.
Why does Chris always look like he'* been startled.
Spacer going in.
Got it all back in. About 5 hours total.

That'* because I'm the one that works on it. My hands and arms really didn't get that dirty. I hate dirty engine compartments.
He just texted me, he got tranny fluid on his lips and they went numb. I'm not sure I want to know what he was doing sucking on a tranny.

This is how we move faster, don't you find it funny when someone is still leary or antsy around the air tools?
LOL, I use a favorite 10mm 1/4" drive that I use. 3/8" and 10mm are cousins.
Heyyyy that goop is familiar looking.

You know full well where that gasket comes from Bill. The same guys that can't drill a PCV hole threw the IC core in the right place, or count past 2.

Oh, i know Dan. I'm trying to not bash them etc. I'm saying for other members. I make all my own gaskets when intercooling because of the benefits and cost.
