Ok, posting this here for visibility and the need for the solution (hopefully) by this evening.

I need to know if there is a way I can stop the dinging that the car makes when a warning comes up on the DIC? I think I have a loose bulb or wire in the new tail lights causing the thing to go off every 30 seconds or so, which is killing me. I am driving back to Binghamton tonight and would like not to hear this the whole way home. If there is a fuse or something I can pull, that would be great. Or if there is a way to turn off the DIC from checking the lights, that would work too.

I will be looking into the differences between the 93 and the 97 tail light wiring later this week to see if maybe that is what is causing this issue. This is just a quick fix for now. Thanks.

Geoff when you were here we thought there were extra lights in the old assembly that were unaccounted for in the new assembly. Have you ruled that out?

If there were unaccounted for lights you could measure the resistance across the correct bulb and insert a resistor into the harness in place of the bulb.

The easiest fix is to turn the radio up. (If you had one when you left..lol)

I don't remember where the chime module is located on the 92-95 but why can't you just unplug that.. no more chime to drive you nuts!

A bad license plate bulb has a bad habit of doing that. Even if you look and they are not out, take them out, clean the sockets or add some dielectric grease. I had the same problem.

Everything was find until someone put a 97 trunk lid and tail lights onto a 93. Some said it couldn't be done..so he did it!

Pull a bulb, then it should only ding once per ride. I suggest one of the trunk mounted bulbs, depending on what type of bulb it says is out.

License plate lights are part of the taillamp circuit. That'* the warning you should get. If you don't have any DIC warnings, do you have a brake warning lamp lit? Does it work on self-test at startup?

Ok... clarifications:

Both plate bulbs are working. I fixed that when the bumper was off.

This started happening after the 97 trunk and tail light swap.

Visually looking at it, there are no bulbs out.

I have the other harness with bulbs in it.

only tail light lights up, no brake light so brakelights are fine.

It is sporatic. Sometimes I start it up and it stays on fine. Sometimes it comes on all the time. Today I drove back from work and it never came on.

Closing the trunk seems to affect it which leads me to the loose bulb issue or a wire issue.

Yes. This happened to me twice. First time a license bulb was out, second time a license bulb was loose.

ok... stupid car fixed itself. Hasn't happened at all today. I'm not opening the trunk til I get home just incase everything has just fallen into line
