2004 Chevy Impala SS VS 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
http://www.goissca.org/2004_impala_ss.htm
Which one do you think would win ? They are both supercharged. |
Same drivetrain as the GTP, and the SSEi. Comes down to weight. 150 pound advantage to the GTP.

Impalla SS?!? I saw one on the road (exactly like the pic) about a month agobut I thought it was an aftermarket thing. I thought they didn't make the SS anymore. It should be a fun car.
BTW: Just for name sakes reasoning, I still think it should have at minimum a V8 or better. :x |
I believe they will be doing the same for the 2004 Monte Carlo SS.
The 3800 is finally getting the respect! :coolmofo: |
That's funny b/c i was just reading an article how Chevy was making sure SS meant " V8 "..and now they are droppin 3800's. Kinda sucks now cuz we have more competition. I've never taken a liking to the body still of the new impalas really. The Monte Carlo was iffy at first, but now they are lookin damn good..especially with the L67 :) I almost think i'd rather have the Monte over a GP cuz there are about 5 trillion GP's on the road, kinda makes me happy to have an SSEi. I'd like to see the L67 dropped in a future Grand Am GT. That's major speed and torque...for that body style, damn.

GTP all the way

Hey that Impala sounds like the Bonne is being resurrected in a new form.
The drivetrain, suspension, tires..... It will all come down to weight. The more features and comforts, the more weight. |
I prefer Pontiac over most GM's anyway. Mainly because of the aggressive styling and Pontiac is really starting to gear its products towards us young folk.
|
Yah allmachtige you're right...Pontiacs styling is alot more aggressive than any other GM. It's not your every day standard vehicle that everyone has..cough cough taurus

I was looking seriously at the Impalas before I bought my Bonneville. About two years ago, I got sales literature from GM on the Monte Carlo and Impala. The MC SS at the time really did not have the performace features I was looking for. The Impala was a bit bigger, but didn't have the SS option.
I told myself that I would get an Impala if Chevy brought back the SS option. Since I bought the Bonne, the Impala SS does not compare now. Close, but no cigar. It may be impressive for those looking at Impalas, but once you have owned a Bonneville, you know better. Jay |
