Default Need some help trouble shooting

Hi,
First off wanted to say this site has the best trouble shooting information out on the web for Bonneville’*. I have a 2000 SE and can find my way around a garage, but am not expert. I have read a lot of threads with similar issues to mine and didn’t see something that I noticed. Systems listed below:

-Will start and run for aprox 25-30 minutes and stall (engine runs normal until then)

-Engine will not start after it stalls until 2-3 hours after (could be sooner, but I have let it sit for a while when it happens)

-Plugs and fuel filter are new since I initially thought that might solve the problem and they are both cheap. I haven’t done plug wires yet

-When I drove last night RMP’* on the dash were jumping back and forth and were at zero a few times when idling, but the car was or seeming to be performing normally

From previous threads it sounds like it could be the CPS or Vacumm leaks. Someone also mentioned O2 sensor. I wanted to check and see if the dash issue last night pointed to a sensor. Also, problem first showed its face in the rain. Any direction that would help limit the cost to trouble shoot would be appreciated.

Could be the engine coolant temp sensor, if it'* reporting to hot the engine will shut down to protect it'* self. Could be coils, test them. Most everything you need should be in the tech info area.

The loss of tach would usually point to the CKPS, crank position sensor. If you have the ability, I'd suggest checking the fuel pressure while it heats up and shuts off. Just in case the pump is getting warm and not providing fuel. Anything around 40psi or more is enough to keep the car running and driving.
