2000 SSEi with 90,000 miles for $6500 - Good Deal?

Hey everyone,

Just found a local 2000 SSEi with 90,000 miles in good condition with a final selling price of $6500 - is this a good deal?

Thanks as always!

Depends on the condition. I would think yea but look close for the typical cancer the 2k bonnies get (hood, by fuel filler door) What else migh she need?

that Sounds like a good deal, but depending on further inspection of course

If this is the one in colorado..avoid it...if not Check the common problems thread in the mechanical section of the club (2000+) and look for common problems.

that price is way below blue book. ;)

Yea, sounds cheap to me. I would look it over closely.

not to scare you but ill mention this...

My 2001 SE right, that cost me $6500 (uncles body shop cost, it listed for $8000) with 90,000 miles. Major repairs if you can consider them major... Front trans mount @ 96,000 miles this week the rest of the mounts will be changed...long story.
New wheel hubs, rotors, some cosmetic fixer uppers (like the hood) and the intermediate shaft. oh yeah, cant forget about the intake manifolds. :D

for the SSEi... id say it might be a good deal. Take it on the highway and floor it, see how she performs. be sure the rotors dont need replacing too.
theyre reliable cars once they are maintained correctly.

Hey everyone,

OK, I pulled a CARFAX and it shows that the car had 4 owners and was in an accident involving right rear impact or collision - minor damage reported.

The dealer said he would "work with me" on the price...

Any input?

he might be saying that because now you know the cars history, which would be a turnoff for me if the car was hit before.
is there a website we can see the car at?

Ask if he minds if you take it to a GM dealer for a pre-buy inspection, and have them take a thorough look at that corner. It may have been nothing more than a repainted bumper cover, or maybe a little hammer work to straighten a fender. If it was frame damage, then it could be anything from just a couple little wrinkles, to a full-blown frame rebuild. It's a damn good price. Get it checked, and if the other dealer gives it a decent report after inspection, then go for it.

rerember act like your not interested and use not but one but four accidents as a bargaining chip. granted it could be something little as a ding but use it against the dealer to knock down the price
