Default The spirit of this Club

Every meet I'm reminded of what it really is all about. Recently reinforced by the generosity of all those involved in the last NEBF meet, and again here in Oregon this weekend.

For only 4 cars here, and three car-owning members, there'* a TON of parts changing hands. It'* a good feeling to know that if you need something that someone has, most times you end up with it. Or if you have something that someone needs, you feel great about just giving it to them.

The pay-it-forward spirit has really grown here over the last 3 years.

Great work everyone.

i 100% agree. before i went to NEBF i thought meets looked like fun, but after goin to it, it was so much more. i met great people, talked bonnies, did some work, drove franky got some parts and so much more. i think i can safely say that nebf was the greatest weekend of my life. i cant wait for the national meet and the next nebf.

The weekend list of gracious giving. These are things that were purchased or given to someone here:

Full set of tail/turn/brake lamps (new).
Extra fasteners (misc stuff) (used).
Ported/Polished Gen2 Supercharger, and all the gaskets/seals including extras.
Harmonic Balancer (new).
MAF sensor.

Not to mention hours of labor on each other'* cars. We still have one to finish today before John and Shadd leave about mid-day. It was hectic at times, but always fun. My place is a MESS!

Things that were taken and wasted:
Rubber from a good set of tires mounted to a 93 SSEi.

There'* another one I forgot about. John and Shadd and I were just talking yesterday about my LIM plans while we had his SC off during the swap.

Yup you want the spirit? Ask for Gonneville'* video of Tracy (singscountry1967) dance. Talk about SPIRIT!!!! I am really lucky that I was fairly accepted at NEBF despite the fact I am deaf. They actually talked to me. Thanks buddies.

Bill I know what you mean.

I showed up to NEBF with my car loaded full of stuff. I wound up trading an exhaust manifold for paint with PeterG, I gave a bag of miscellaneous crap to Pat including a 93 L27 PCM, I gave away half a roll of reflectix and sold 9 spoke wheels to ElMachoTacoDude. Not to mention buying a 95 SSEi PCM and front bumper from Brady.

Then there was the work. I helped Randy swap fuel senders, Randy helped me with the bumper. Pat Bill and I helped Brady strip a 96 MT SSEi at a yard. I became blood brothers with Tracy'* 2000 SLE. Tom Sykes spent hours on end with 3 members cars using Zaino (which I wholly endorse).

This club rocks because of the people.

Special shout out goes to Pat for not whoring the garage for four days this year :P
