Default Firebird vs Bonneville??

The may be a very dumb question but i want to ask it anyway. My mom recently bought a 2002 red w/black racing stripes firebrird convertible(very nice looking car). It has the exact same engine as my 97 se i think. I know they are both 3800 series ll. I was wondering what would happen if we lined these two up. My mom isnt to keen on racing so i wont be able to do this actually for a while(at least until she leaves it home alone ) any predictions??

Well, it may have the same powerplant, but I think the FB is geared differently and they probably tweaked the tranny a bit. It probably has some kinda performance exhaust on it too.

If you were SC'd then ya...but otherwise...I doubt it... :?

This is coming from the 1999 Firebird brochure book. I believe in 2002 there were no major changes unless paint wise and On-Star......anyway the Firebird 3800 V-6 weighs 3338lbs. 200hp 225 ft. lbs. torque. I think it'll be very close.

the firebird probably has a more performance oriented gear ratio, do you know yours?

So the firebird is what, 200lbs lighter, and it is RWD so it could get a better launch, and I am pretty sure it has better gearing. I would think the Firebird would win with equal drivers, but it would be a very close race, it could be the Bonneville or the Firebird. I am assuming the Firebird is an Auto right? If not, that would give the 'bird an even bigger advantage (assuming a good driver).

I agree with the real close race, including the 2 good drivers. Waht about an SSEi vs. WS-6 or the WS-6 and the G/XP?
