I like the idea. I would be willing to help build the section but it would be a while before I have enough time to dig into it.
But yea, even if it'* a link to another site (eg: www.minnesotabonne.com) that would work too. We almost have enough memebers from MN to pull this off...
Good idea...

I'd be willing to add a "sticky" to the top of each section that has local clubs or websites, but if we add a mod to the MN section, we'll have to add more. It gets difficult to control and manage the board with a moderator for a specific section. One of the problems is that the moderator in that section won't be able to move a post to another section.
Hector and I discissed the possibility at one time of having local moderators for each section, but it just gets too complicated. Even the 'traditional' process of adding a moderator itself is kinda complicated.
Jeff has left the task of adding moderators to Hector and I, and we have traditionally included the other Moderators in the selection process. Now that Hector is no longer an Admin, I still insist on following our process. Any of the other Mods wanna weigh in here?

I'm satisfied with the way the Gatherings forums are organized right now. The geographical divisions we set up should be sufficient at this point. We are not at a point where MN members occupy 50% of the board....not yet anyway
The recent influx of MN members is impressive, however, I'm cool with the status quo. A sticky in the Midwest forum is acceptable by me. It would help keep things organized. But its to soon to grant independance to Minnesota yet

When I saw this post here is what I was thinking...
The MN section would be seperate from the BC forum. It wouldn't be used to replace all the Minnecsota related posts but a place to post gathering pics, event calanders, local chat, etc...
It wouldn't need to be hosted on the same site that BC is on either. It would be nice if there were a more "offical" type link to it though. Either in links section and / or the gatherings section.
This section would then be maintained fully but the MN members leaving little to no burden on any of the BC "staff".
Would something like that play well with our gracious moderators?

That works for me, so you want to begin your own site specifically for MN members? If you feel that the total amount of MN members justifies its own site, then I say go for it
However, if it is to be referenced or linked from Bonnevileclub.com, it should be a public site. Any restricted access to said MN site shouldn't be linked from BC. That is to subversive in my opinion. It is a good idea for you folks to futhur your co-ordination and events scheduling. Good luck with it.
Jeff, Bill, Don, Tim what is your call on this?

If you guys want to host a site, hell yes. Sounds great. I think it'* cool that we've finally grown to the point we can do this! Get one up and running, and we can link to it.

and there is not enough members to add like someone on the geographical thing of like Minnesota or something...in addition to the other geographical regions...just add it....and move all the minnesota posts to it...and even if you set up a mn mod just give him full rights to the site...but dont list them under mods then...just have like MN admin then or something...?

I can look into the option of getting our own server setup (not to expensive these days) and we can create what we want there. We could set our own admins, moderators, chat rooms, photo galleries, etc... We can then still use BC for car issues and stuff but use the "new" site for things like MN event calanders, photo hosting, arranging meets, etc... This will give us a lot more funtionality without impeading on the BC format very much at all.
I can look into options. I have a few resources I can talk to to get the skinny on what is available and what we can do.
