Default Moderator authority and behavior

The Moderators are the voice of the Forum on a daily basis. They are in effect the first line of defense. They are what keeps the Forum running on an even keel.

If you have an issue with a Moderator, your options are limited. You may NOT speak down to them or lip off. They speak from a position of authority with regards to the Forum Policies and Guidlines.

You have one option. Contact an Admin.

We recently lost one member for refusing to heed this Authority repeatedly. It will not be tolerated in the future.

Perhaps a better explanation is in order.

Think of the Moderators as your direct Supervisor. Admins are the Managers. If you do something that would probably get you fired from your job to one of these two categories, you'll likely lose your membership on this Forum.

This would also be a good time to suggest that lipping off to an Administrator in two subsequent PM'* when you're told to get back on topic or start your own topic.....

Well, you get the idea.

Authority on this Forum, and your respect for it is what makes this place unlike other internet Forums. This is a respectful, peaceful, comfortable place to hang out.

Time to bump this. There are members here who are blatanty ignoring Moderator advice. Whether that advice is posted as a warning to get back on topic, or sent via PM.

Disciplinary action will commence the next time this happens.

There is NO question that the members of this Forum should follow the guidance of the Moderators of this Forum, and there will be zero tolerance for those that ignore their authority.

I'm going to have to add the Gearheads to this category. They've been taking some verbal abuse in the mechanical sections.

While I understand mechanical problems can be frustrating, those guys with the Gearhead rank invest alot of time and effort on your behalf and stick with you on your problem from beginning to end.

Please give them the respect they deserve, and do your best to answer their questions with as much detail and accuracy as possible. If they ask for more information, don't tell them to read the topic again. I gaurantee you they already have.

For those that don't know, many of these problems are team-solved in the Gearhead section that the general membership can't see. You have no idea how much effort these guys put forward. Take it from me, they are the key to this Forum'* success. Not the Admins or Moderators.

Cut 'em some slack so the Admins don't have to get nasty in their defense.
