noticed this while watching my buddy on regal do a search... if they search for "transmission fluid", it being 2 words, using "Search for any terms or use query as entered" DOES NOT work, you have to use "Search for all terms"

Search for any terms or use query as entered: "transmission fluid" = Search found 3989 matches

Search for all terms: "transmission fluid" = Search found 463 matches

that is why we see posts like this

search needs to be reworked so that its easier to understand for everyone

Would you rather see "search for all terms" as the default selection?

harofreak00 Feb 17, 2006 09:18 AM

yes that would make sense, or not even use Search for any terms or use query as entered

harofreak00 Feb 19, 2006 08:49 PM

i see its in action.. thanks jeff!

I also noticed. Jeff...it's a great change.

Since it's almost the same thing. Is there a way to get only posts started by author?

Say only Harofreak00? Maybe I'm missing something..I know we can get all posts and search by author...but post started only?

You can sort your search results by author, and quickly scroll to the person you want. Ascending or Descending.

glad to hear search feature is being re-worked because I have had trouble searching for things and getting what I am looking for.

It should be a bit different now. Just try to search with as much info as you can. Two or three words if possible, and narrow it down by what section the info would likely be in. Author if you know.

another search "problem" if you will, when you have a search on the first page and go back, you get a cannot refresh error, and have to do the search over again. if you go to the next page and then back to the first page, you can go from post to completed search again.

Rt Click - Open Link in New Window - You don't lose your search that way (unless maybe you move on to page 2 or whatever)
