Posting Time-Outs
My solution -
This happens on lots of forums. I've taken to using Microsoft'* Notepad (std equip) to compose and edit before posting. I can include any URLs for photos
as part of the text and upload them after I paste it all into the reply editor here.
I size my Notepad window small enough to make it useful (approx 4x9) and keep it on top of the forum page I'm responding to - makes it easy to flip back and forth for reference.
I do this before I Sign-in so the timer doesn't run and log me out.

Probably in response to this thread:
https://www.gmforum.com/forum-update...*-post-301025/
but instead grabbed the new thread button instead of the reply button.
To this day I have no idea how long you have to be at it to time out though, and if I am paranoid about it, I just copy the text before I submit.

No problem at all actually. We are pretty easy going here John.
If you are making a new thread in reference to an older post, just include the link to the older post, and carry on with your new question & information.
In a longer period of inactivity, you can get logged out, best to save info first, before hitting the post button, just in case.

I just looked at the settings, you have to be INACTIVE for more than 30 minutes to be logged off. Sorry to say, if it takes that long to type something, then um, well, you know. Type faster. It also helps to click that little box that says "keep me logged in" or "remember me" whatever it says. Unless you are using a public computer, then don't.

Yeah. That'* plenty of time. I've been logged out here a couple of times as I was reading posts, but I had no idea it had been anywhere near 30 min. I guess time does fly when you're having fun
Thanks for the info.
