Possible sig clutter solution...
On several other forums I am a member on, they have a system by which the forum automatically includes your signature on the first post you make in any given thread. Any additional posts to the same thread are sans signature unless you select it.
I personally only include my sig on the first post already. However, I think alot of people just click the option in their profile to always include the sig in every post. If it can be done, this would cut down a lot on time spent scrolling past multiple, ad-nauseum strings of the same two or three sigs in back and forth threads... |
I have mixed feelings on this topic...
The Maxima forums does this, it does help shorten page lengths, however it makes it much more difficult to keep track of who is who in the conversation at times |

but all you would have to do is go in your profile and click NO where it says.
Always show other signatures: go ahead... try it |

I actually like the signatures. With this latest one, I may not be trying a lot, but there'll be more to come. The one thing that gets me is when people make a drastic sig change. It's hard to adjust.

I like the sigs, and I agree, it helps keep track of who posted.
Plus some of these signatures are pretty creative and informative ;) |
Signatures have been considered important ever since we have recognized their uniqueness and importance. Charlemagne, the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, could not read or write, but someone wrote out a signature he memorized as one would remember a drawing. If Charlemagne felt it was important to sign important documents, I believe it's important for my really absurd signatures to show I have commented.
