I -I think that we should also have a forum format that supports Pocket Pc and similar devices. There has to be a downloadable plug in for Php BB to support less images and smaller resolutions. Heck, it could even help out 56K people

I've looked into it already for my internet phone, and the length of the main forum page would still be too long. I can load the splash page, but don't even come close anywhere else.

The only way it could be CLOSE to useable would be a 640x480 device, and that'* still a stretch. PPC on normal pages is no fun, even with a keyboard.

But i have seen some other boards (i thi Vbulletin) that resize posts. So if the original poster puts up say a 1280x1024 image, and you're viewing at 1024x768, only the large image post requires scrolling side to side. The rest still conform to the window size. I dunno if PHPBB can do this though...

Well i can see and browse it all.. ( i made the first post with my iPaq). It just requires you to scroll lots and it kinda fudges the veiwing of the forum. (The service speed is no problem, as i would be on WiFi with broadband on it)

It just would be nice to have a text based really small version... but yes, i built my own forum once. It wouldnt be anywhere near easy... cool thought tho if they ever come out with something to make it easy

I don't know how easy this would be, but to have two forums, one being the normal one, the other being the smaller resolution one. Well, have the smaller resolution one be able to read the phpBB scripts, so the two are synced, since they are reading from the same source. How possible is that? Probably hard as hell. Contacting phpBB may be your best option [or posting on their forums]. They may already have something like this.

I doubt it is possible or even close to being easy. If you want it so bad why aren't you contacting phpbb about it, the admins around here have a hard enough time to make time to take care of the forum and "babysit" some of the time let alone search on how to make 2 forums. Plus, anything done like this, Jeff would have to set it up on the server and I really doubt he has time or even wants the hassle.
