Default Intext Ads For Regular Members

Members,

Intext ads are now going from guest viewing only to regular member viewing. If you are a staff member, vendor or site supporter you will not see in text ads. If you just registered you will see ads.

Advertisements in any form are important to the existence and promotion of this webforum. Not only does the revenue generated pay for hosting and licenses, but it also affords us giveaways, BBQs and further site promotion.

If you have a question, or comment, please contact myself or another staff member.

Works for me. Cost'* keep rising and you have kept the Forum uncluttered thus far. If we want to grow and have benefits, some things are inevitable. For some in certain situations, it can be a good thing for searching for a car part or other item being discussed

Being a supporter is well worth the money. Just in information and money saved in fixing one or two small problems.

These should be banned everywhere, because they are a great hindrance for those with dyslexia. They think they did something wrong when the ad appears.

All mouseover devices (things that happen when the mouse passes over something) do not meet accessibility needs. They should be banned as inaccessible.

Many dyslexics use the mouse pointer to keep track of where they are in the text. They can't do that if moving the mouse over part of the text makes something pop up.

Not that I'll ever see these, but…

I don't mind having a couple Google ads around or in-between posts, but I can't tell you how much I hate those in-text ads that pop up and never go away until I reload the page.

Still, if it means that I start getting invited to these so-called BBQ'*, my opinion may be swayed.

They actually do happen in more active forums under our umbrella. Which have extremely active Staffs and traffic in the 400-700 range. frankly speaking at "Users active in the past 24 hours: 101 members" I'm happy the lights are on when I login.

Intext ads and supporters pay the bills and that'* about it. I've seen many forums of this size just be closed without any consideration of even being sold. No monetary value. In 6 years here the Dyslexia angle or a complaint of it has never before occurred. So I'm not swayed to change anything. This ain't the Obama "lets cater to small minority factions" in hopes of building up the roles. Most dyslectics don't wrench. I mean "Righty tighty, Lefty loosey" is a key foundation for a safe vehicle. Unless your putting the wheels on a late 50'* Chrysler.......Got to watch our for that positive ground as well. Do you suppose Walter P. Chrysler was dyslexic???
